Hall Makeover - August 2025

The lazy days of summer and the school holidays are a great time to sit back and "chillax", read a book and enjoy your favourite tipple...
...Or, it's a great time to redecorate and refresh our Village Hall and car park! The Trustees decided the latter and on a couple of weekends at the end of August, our volunteer labour picked up their brushes, rollers, paint trays, pots of filler and cans of floor polish and set about a refresh.
The floor was first. Remove all the old polish with a mild stripper/cleaner, then apply 3 coats of water-based top coat to give it a hard wearing "wet-look" finish.
Then, add some dado rail in the foyer to match the rest of the hall. Deep clean the loos before a splash (!) of colour.
Finally, two coats of colour above and below the dado rail in the main hall. An epic task for our volunteers, but one that proved to be very worthwhile. You can be the judge when you next visit the hall, but for now, take a look at some of the photos below.
The last thing that needs tackling is the car park lines. These will be replaced over the next couple of weeks all being well and weather permitting.
Here's a slide show and a video to give you the idea. You can click an image to enlarge it, then use the < > to scroll along the gallery.
And here's a short video.
We hope to see you all very soon.
