Legacy Giving
All Saints and District Village Hall is more than a building, it is the heart of our community. For decades it has hosted celebrations, brought neighbours together and offered a warm, welcoming space to everyone in the parish and beyond. But to remain safe, accessible and fit for purpose, our hall will require major refurbishments, likely including structural repairs, modernisation of facilities and significant improvements to ensure long-term sustainability.
Many people choose to leave a gift in their will to charities after first taking care of their loved ones. Once family and friends are provided for, a legacy gift to our village hall is a meaningful way to pass on your generosity and help preserve a place that will continue to benefit generations of All Saints residents, long into the future.

How Legacy Giving Works
Legacy Giving works by leaving a gift in your will. A gift can be one of these types:

Pecuniary Gift. This is a fixed sum of money. E.g. leaving £5,000 could help fund new insulation, energy‑efficiency improvements or essential repairs.

Residuary Gift. This is a percentage of your estate after other gifts and expenses. This type of gift keeps its value over time because it adjusts with inflation.

Specific Gift. This is a particular item such as furniture, equipment, artwork or other possessions – that could enhance the hall or could be sold to help fund vital improvements.
Practical Steps to Leave a Gift

Decide the type of gift - Pecuniary, Residuary or Specific.

Include our charity details in your will - All Saints and District Village Hall - Registered Charity Number: 205937.

Speak with your solicitor or will‑writing service to include the correct wording (see below).

Additionally, anyone donating over £5,000 in their will can choose to be celebrated and remembered on our new Benefactors’ Wall at the hall.
