Charity and Fundraising

More  Ways to Support

Our Hall is a small charity run for the benefit of our friendly cluster of hamlets by a committed group of voluntary Trustees and other volunteers.

We were registered as a charity in 1962 with the aim of maintaining a building for community activities, ranging from education classes, pantomime, concerts and band practice to fundraising events.

Our fundraising quest continues – there is always something needed to repair, rejuvenate or replace.

Our current fundraising efforts are focussed on our 'Raising the Bar' project - creating a new bar and social space at the hall for all of us. Our target is to raise £6,000 and we want to get everyone involved.

50 years ago – everybody in every household of our parish was part of an epic effort to build our village hall from scratch. Digging Foundations, laying bricks and tiling the roof. Rain or shine, villagers could be seen measuring up, scratching heads and flexing muscle. In order to create our vital social nucleus – no job was too arduous, no fundraising stone was unturned - disco events, and cross-dressing were the order of the day.  Everyone concerned can be immensely proud that our hall is as popular now as ever, giving all of us an affordable, welcoming and accessible place to meet our neighbours, make new friends and mark landmark occasions.

So what are we asking you to do? Follow in the footsteps of our forefathers by digging trenches for soil pipes, tarmac the car park or plaster the walls? No – all we are asking you to do is get involved by supporting our events, making a donation or host a dinner, breakfast or lunch party for some friends (local or not) in aid of the hall all whilst having a bloomin good time.

Here's how you can support us and your community

Raising the Bar

Our bar needs love and attention. Whilst we don't expect Tom Cruise to be throwing bottles around any time soon – we would love to be able to offer a fully equipped bar area for everyone that books, attends and enjoys our events.
